1. Get clear on your question
Tarot gives richer answers to open questions like “how will this unfold” or “what should I watch out for” than to plain yes/no ones. The more specific your question — “how will my job search go this week” rather than a vague “what's my fortune” — the sharper the reading. If nothing comes to mind, browse today's suggested questions.
2. Settle your mind and shuffle
Don't try to force the "right" answer. Just hold your question in mind, get comfortable, and shuffle and draw. If you already drew a physical card offline, you can look up what it means right away.
3. Decide how many cards to draw
One card is plenty for a first try. Once you're comfortable, move up to a 3-card (past-present-future) spread. Curious about spread types? See Types of Tarot Spreads.
4. Read the cards as a story, not one by one
If you drew multiple cards, try reading them in order as one connected story rather than interpreting each in isolation. For example, Death followed by The Star can be read as: a difficult ending, then recovery and hope arriving right after.
